WHAT YOU SHOULD AVOID
Extreme temperatures as well as high levels of humidity may cause irreversible damage to your items. Please do not leave your jewelry in your car or in your bathroom. Saunas and hot tubs may also affect the state of your items. Avoid wearing your jewelry while swimming in the pool (due to chlorine), and make sure it’s not exposed to seawater for an extended period of time.
Other detrimental chemicals found in wet wipes, alcohol-based skincare products (some moisturizers and sunscreen brands) or strong perfumes should also be avoided when wearing plated jewelry. We recommend applying your favorite scents on other body parts instead of your neck or behind your ear lobes which will provide the same results – the back of your knees and the inner wrist/elbow area. You can do the same with essential oils. Please do not use a jewelry polishing cloth on plated jewelry, as it may lead to discoloration and rub out the finish.
STORAGE AND CLEANING TECHNIQUES
Properly storing, as well as cleaning your plated jewelry is an absolute must! These precautions are super easy to memorize and if you religiously follow the instructions, your items will remain intact for a very long time!
We recommend you separate your items when you put them away, so as to prevent any chains from tangling. Your item should be sealed in the accompanying display box or zip lock bag. Some of our items come in a little pink pouch (Zodiac Bracelets), so you may store it in there. You can then place them in a jewelry box on top of your vanity or in a drawer.
If you notice any dirt on your items, you may wash it gently. Use a mild soap (the milder the better - we went for this cute, cupcake shaped vegan soap) and lukewarm water. You may use a soft linen cloth to apply to it gingerly. This action should not last an extended period of time. Once you have rinsed it with lukewarm water, use another cloth to dry the item by cautiously tapping it. Finally, you can leave it out to dry completely on a cloth-covered surface.
